Diamond Wipes International, a U.S. manufacturer of wet wipes, received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by The Women’s Business Enterprise Council West, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by The Women’s Business Enterprise Council West is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women. “As a woman who immigrated to the U.S. 20 years ago, I’m proud that I was able to start my own company and continue to manufacture our products in the U.S.,” says Eve Yen, founder and president of Diamond Wipes. “Today we produce over 2.2 million wet wipes daily. We have two facilities, in California and Ohio. Supporting each other is essential to success. By joining WBENC, I’m looking forward to working with corporate members and support other woman-owned businesses to achieve more success in today’s competitive business landscape.” By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations, and government agencies, WBENC and its regional partners demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs. Diamond Wipes International is a leading Western U.S. manufacturer of wet wipes. Established in 1994, FDA and EPA registered Diamond Wipes supplies wet wipes to major restaurant chains through foodservice distributors. Diamond Wipes also specializes in wet wipe manufacturing and contract filling for beauty and personal care, healthcare, hospitality, household, janitorial and sanitation, and CPG industries. In 2012, Diamond Wipes completed construction of its 3,360-panel solar power system, designed to generate over 548,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually for its Southern California manufacturing headquarters. The clean renewable energy delivers approximately 86% of electricity required to operate its California plant. Diamond Wipes is a certified EPA Green Power Partner, meeting EPA requirements on using a more sustainable form of energy. The company also holds FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and Rainforest Alliance certifications, demonstrating its commitment to more responsible management of world’s forestry resources.
